Attention Head Boys and Girls Basketball
Coaches.
The
Atlanta Select Basketball Association works with student-athletes ages eight through eighteen. We use basketball as
a tool to encourage youth to work hard in school and to make productive use of
their leisure time. Student-Athletes
throughout the Greater Atlanta Metropolitan and surrounding areas participate in our
program.
Our primary mission is to successfully prepare young boys and girls, both academically and athletically, for the opportunity to pursue a degree of higher education at the college level.
Our primary mission is to successfully prepare young boys and girls, both academically and athletically, for the opportunity to pursue a degree of higher education at the college level.
We
emphasize Education and Life Skills as equal partners to Sports in the
development of student-athletes. Therefore, we have implemented an educational
monitoring and life skills supplement to our basketball program.
We participate in AAU, YBOA, and other youth basketball programs to promote the student–athlete and provide him or her with maximum exposure. Our program is very competitive. It allows student-athletes to play with the best, against the best throughout United States.

Part
of our mandate is to work with local middle and high school coaches to leverage
and share expertise and to promote the student–athlete. Thus, this is the reason for this letter to
you. We understand that your basketball
season is drawing to a close. And, we
wish you much success during the up coming tournaments. Our youth spring and
summer program will begin in March.
First,
we are asking you to visit our web site (www.atlselect.com) to learn more about
our program. Second, we would like your input on your areas of concern about
youth basketball programs, in general. Third, we would like for you to nominate
student-athletes in your program that we can assist in their development and
exposure. Fourth, we invite members of your coaching staff to join our program.
And finally, most importantly, we would like to work with you in our efforts to
develop student-athletes.
We are not in competition with school basketball programs but would like to provide a supplement in the total skill development and promotion of the student athlete. Our goal is to work together.
We
are limited on the number of student-athletes we can support. Our “tryout” dates and locations are
announced on our website. Please contact me for any additional background information on our program. Plus, we are
prepared to meet with you and discuss how we can mutually support each other.
Again,
we wish you much success during your tournaments and we hope to hear from you
soon.
Sincerely,
George
