Off to College - Pierre Mason

Congratulations to Pierre Mason - Freshman Student Athlete, Lindenwood University. Pierre will be dealing in the classroom and on the basketball court this Fall in the State of Missouri.

Pierre is the son of proud parent Ms. Dionne Mason, who coached his AAU team with Atlanta Select for five years, developing his skills as a point guard that caught the eyes of college recruiters.

Now he will be dealing on the hardwood of Lindenwood University bringing pride and joy to all that were part of his development.

Again, we offer our thanks to Pierre and his mother/AAU coach, Coach Mason, for the support they gave Atlanta Select and congratulations and good luck to Pierre for a successful career at the next level.

Off to College - Bakari Copeland

Congratulations to Bakari Copeland, Freshman - Student Athlete - Charleston Southern University. Bakari, a graduate of Arabia Mountain High School in Dekalb County, is the son of proud parents, Mr. & Mrs. Clyde Copeland.

Bakari has had a stellar basketball career with his recreation, AAU and school teams. He is a former member of the Mighty Atlanta Select SILVER team (2009-11} coached by his father.

But now he is moving to the next level, a student and basketball player at Charleston Southern University.

Player of the Month honors for January…Was the No. 9 scorer in the state according to MaxPreps…Was named Arabia Mountain High School Team MVP. Personal: Active member of Rainbow Park Baptist Church and helps lead the church’s Open Gym Ministry, an outreach program for young males in the South DeKalb community to participate in this Christ-centered basketball program.

Off to College - Jamal Williams

Congratulations to Jamal Williams for accepting a scholarship offer to attend Albany Technical College to study and play basketball.  Jamal is the son of Mr. Barry and Mrs. Karen Williams of Paulding County. Coach Williams lead the 2011/12 Mighty Atlanta Select Eleventh Grade CLASSIC team in which Jamal was the key point and shooting guard. We are confident that Jamal will exercise his talent with the Titans at Albany Tech. Again, congratulations and "Just Go Select".
