Last weekend was a banner weekend. We played in Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina and all over Metro Atlanta. Folks saw us everywhere. And the good thing about it we did well. Half of the teams that played captured trophies. Most others had winning records. That is why one reason we are being invited to so many tournaments. We draw a crowd.
I posted on our Social Media the results as they came in. Our web site hits increased extremely. The hottest post on our web site now is Coach Mandeldove's ladies at Boo Williams in Virginia. Having Allen Iverson in the picture helped, especially since he was selected to the Hall of Fame the same day, wearing the same outfit.
These pictures were also posted on our Face book page and our friend requests are soaring. I only confirm requests from friends I know or feel good about and of course all basketball coaches, scouts and other youth basketball organization. EXPOSURE Baby.
As I mentioned before, April is a key and busy month. I said that all teams that are ready should participate in at least 3 tournaments this month. We have two weekends of NCAA Certified events. The AAU District/State is happening and those of you playing YBOA need to get your two YBOA tournaments in whereas you can play in the YBOA State.
For the older boys and girls please be aware of the SAT testing date the first of next month. You want to make sure that you are not playing and allowing your players to be available to test.

Remember Education Comes First. Are you checking Progress Reports? Finals are just around the corner. Make sure all your players are passing. You do not want any of your players to have to go to Summer School. They will miss out on the important Summer tournaments. We are Select.
It is about time to have a Mid Season conference with your parents and players. Give your players an evaluation of how they are doing. Use the attached player analysis report. Discuss with your parents your philosophy and plans for the remaining of the season. Keep them informed, be open with them and truthful. Don't be afraid. I have your back. Again, if you have a Cancer on your team, cut now.
A shout out to the Mighty 17U CLASSIC Team (Coach Ricker) for their achievement at the Norman Parker Showcase for winning 3 games. It is not an easy feat to win 3 games at such a high caliber tournament. That is why we award trophy status to such an accomplishment. Kudos to Ellis Merriweather , number 3, on the team for having the highest scoring average at the tournament. He also made the Norm Parker All-Tournament team. See the HoopSeen article below.
A shout out to the Mighty Atlanta Select Roswell Bombers (Coach Krantz) for earning Second Place at the 10U Georgia Cup II. A star player on his team (Tyson Pittman) made the All Tournament team. Congratulations.
A shout out goes also to Ammarion Jones of the Mighty 11u Atlanta Select BRONCOS (Coach Fann) for making the All-Tournament team at the Georgia Cup II.
