Good Day Select Family and Friends,

On our first official weekend in which our goal was to get the season started, we accomplished what was planned. Twelve teams signed up to play in tournaments and eleventh did. The Mighty Lady Select 8th Grade XCLUSIVE was schedule to play in a D1Spects tournament that was cancelled due to teams dropping out. But the other 11 teams played capturing 3 trophies.

The Mighty Lady Select 8th Grade RED in their first tournament of the season was crowned "champions' in an AAU Super Regional. Kudos to Coach McCrae starting off the season as he did last season in which he captured a trophy in every tournament he played. Coach McCrae stated " The ladies worked hard and learned how to play as one. Still a lot of work to do but we are getting there on the road to the AAU and Nike Nationals".

Two for two is the record of the Mighty Lady Select 7th Grade WHITE team. The team finished second at the YBOA March Madness. They have played in two tournaments and earned a trophy each time, thus, undefeated in the weekly trophy count. Congratulations to Coach Lewis and his Mighty team.

At the last minute the Mighty 4th Grade SYNERGY Select was lured to participate in the showcase event in Birmingham, Alabama, the Battle of the Magic City. This showcase tournament brought teams from all over the nation to include Lebron James 4th grade team. Just so happen The Synergy Select finished number one in their pool but not given a BYE in bracket play. After winning their first bracket game they met up with Lebron's team (N.C.B.C.) and lost in the semi finals. However, they won the BRONZE metal. An extremely good show for our Select team that defeated teams from North Carolina, Alabama and Michigan in a major showcase event. Kudos to Coach G and his Mighty team.

Kudos to SYNERGY Select player, Kaden Jamerson, who received a very positive "Write-Up" in the Coast2Coast Prep Stars Player profile. As I always say, "You do not know who is watching".

The Trophy Count as of Monday March 14 is 5.

The other teams that played last weekend fared well, most made  it to Sunday and had a good start in their first or second tournament. Keep pushing. It was good to see so many parents attending rendering support for their team. Below are the parents attending Coach Woods and his Mighty 8th Grade COLLEGE Bound games.

Another highlight of the weekend was the Select Nation Scrimmage coordinated by Coach Burton of the Mighty 10th Grade RED team. Six Select teams participated; Coach Burton's Mighty 16u RED, Coach Morris and his Mighty 16u BLACK "A" and "B" teams, Coach Hall  and his Mighty 15u PRIME team, Coach Richer and his Mighty 17uCLASSIC Team and Coach Odell and his Mighty 17u RED Elite team. The gym at North Druid HS was packed with parents and friends watching their players work hard and having fun. Thanks to Coach Burton for coordinating a very successful event.

The AAU District/State tournaments begin early next month. Remember deadlines. Register early. Review Memo for Action Number 8 for AAU Rules.
