On Saturday, January 15, 2011 Point 3, a new basketball only apparel company based in Atlanta, GA conducted a Skills Challenge contest across the street from Walter's Clothing Store in downtown Atlanta. Participants had a timed drill in which they had to dribble, pass and shoot. The participant with the best time was awarded $350 in prizes and gift certificates.
Point 3 has selected Atlanta Select as a partner in supporting youth basketball. Atlanta Select student athletes from 8 to 18 participated in the event along with guests from the surrounding community.
Point 3 performance gear such as the new basketball unique hoodie, sleeveless shooting shirts and shooting sleeves were won and/or purchased by the athletes. Several Atlanta Select coaches also test their skills in the event.
Top times in the skills drills were earned by Divine Marchany (9.4 sec), Chwaquarius Jones (9.5 sec) and Jordan Enadeghe (9.7 sec), all team members of the Atlanta Select Boys 11th/12th Grades SILVER team. Congratulations to all.
