More than 40 trainees attended Skills Development training last Sunday. At least 10 trainees were awarded Skills Development T-shirts for completing at least four training sessions. Ball handing, rebounding, blocking out, shooting, passing and fast break drills were emphasized during training last Sunday.
A highlight of the training was the "Guest Speaker" presentation during the "Life Skills" portion. Mr. Damien Walton, representing Terry Learning Center, gave a presentation to the parents in attendance and provided a motivation speech to the trainees. This Center's program is designed to help students excel academically and to exceed state and local standards. This tutoring service is free for some students that attend designated Title I schools in the Metro Atlanta area.
