The success of the Select Nation is due solely to the committed, dedicated, knowledgable and passionate CADRE of coaches supporting the Select Nation. I observed some of them in action this weekend and I must say"I am glad to be associated with Atlanta/Savannah/Augusta Basketball Association, the Select Nation".
Coach "G" Stewart and Coach Baskerville have been in the organization ten and nine years, respectively. During their tenure they have trained and guided over 100 student athletes in their love of the game and the pursuit of their dream. In action last weekend they guided the mighty 9u SYNERGY Select playing in two age groups (9u & 10u) at the USSSA Super Regional. The team was undefeated in the 9u group, defeating the AAU State champions in the championship game. They have qualified for the AAU, YBOA and USSSA Nationals.

Coach 'Chan" Scott brought his talents to the Select Nation after a very successful tenure with another major organization. His record since joining the Select Nation is 24 - 2 for the Mighty 10u BLACK 2023 team. A testament that he must be doing something right. His passion is evident because he is determine to always win. We are justifiable proud that he brought his talents to the Select!

Coach Tony Hill and his brother Elliot Hill are leading the 16u SILVER and BLACK teams. Back in 2005 when Coach Hill and I decided to form the Atlanta Select, he selected to continue to coach and i would run the organization. Must admit we both have been successful. At Bob Gibbons last weekend he showed his student athletes what they will face in the Exposure tournaments in July. He always show no fear and guide his teams over the years to be a force to be reckon with. No question, he is proud to be a Select and of the success of the Select Nation.

Coach Dwayne Hall (no hat) is a Select Nation's "Coach of the Year". After guiding a team of players that will graduate this year he decided to take on another group of student athletes, eighth graders, and prepare them for success in playing youth competitive basketball. Coach Larry Thompson played for me and Coach Hill as a member of the Atlanta Celtics in the mid to late '90. He played point/shooting guard and was a leader on the floor. Twenty years later he is leading, along with Coach Stephens, the mighty 14u BLACK Elite team. He also coached Middle School ball and lead his team to the championship. Watch out, I am positive that he will be a varsity head coach soon.

Coach Glenn is a member of a well known Entertainment group, but he does not broadcast that he is. On the other hand he is leader of the mighty 17u PRO team. He is grooming a strong team of young men to be highly competitive. They will be entering many of the Showcase and Exposure tournaments in July. This second year Select Coach has proven his team can entertain.

Coach Keown and Coach Elston are calm and collected. Calmly they destroy their component. And collectively they earned trophies, five at this point mid-season. This well disciple team (the Mighty 11u BLACK 2022) will be adding more to the trophy count. Just watch. Coach JayBee Brown has no problem getting the attention of his players. He has earned their respect from his knowledge of the game and the commitment to develop skills in talented players. Coach Milton Woods, a couple of years ago, began as an assistant coach. For the last two years he has proven that he is an excellent teacher and strategist by leaving his teams to multiple championships. His mighty 13u COLLEGE Bound team is in the mix in every tournament and is racking up the accolades and awards.

Coach Mandeldove leads our youngest ladies, first and second graders. His dedication and commitment is unquestionable. His goal is to "See It Through". This past weekend his two teams both won the AAU State championships, defeating the GA Pistols for the first time ever. Perseverance. Look at these smiles.

Coach Eugene Sanders is considered a Senior Select Coach, not only for being a Select for 10 years, but his knowledge, leadership and dedication to the game. He is acting as an assistant this year, but no swear, when the head coach is absence he still will lead a team (the Mighty 16u RED) to the championship.
