Select Nation NEWS - Sunday Morning - April 27, 2014

Good Morning Select Family,

I really enjoy reporting on Select Nation NEWS. Where I sit I can observe what is going on within the entire nation and what I see is amazing.  It makes me proud of being a Select. The main reason is, that you, the nearly 40 teams of the nation, are doing your thang. Yes, your thang!

The Mighty Atlanta Lady Select, both the RED and WHITE Sixth Grade teams, (Coach McCrae and his Cadre) are in the championship today. The WHITE in the Sixth Grade Division and the RED in the seventh grade division. Both were undefeated in pool play.

The Mighty Augusta Lady Select Eighth Grade BLACK team (Coach Howard), balling in North Carolina are playing in the semifinals this morning.

The Mighty Savannah Eleventh Grade RED team (Coach Little) is still battling at the Super 100. Strange story about how the coach got lost going back to the hotel. Circling the airport numerous times trying to find their hotel. Just let them know that Atlanta is a little bigger than Savannah. Smile. Here is Coach Little's explanation in his own words:

Man, I just got the worst but whopping ever! Took my team to the mall after our game today. On the way back to my hotel I got lost as hell at the Atlanta Airport. We are living in the Hyatt Place Atlanta Airport South which is 3-4 minutes away from the airport. Somehow my Gps got me too the airport. I rode around that thing three time before I finally found my way out. I got a van full of kids laughing the whole time! ATL Airport will kick yo butt!! Do much construction and road work sent my updated GPS silly.

The Mighty Atlanta Select Eleventh Grade RED Elite team (Coach Lee) feared well at the NCAA Certified "Southern Exposure" in North Augusta. Dealing with several injuries, they still performed well.

The Mighty Atlanta Select Tenth Grade PRO Team (Coach Glenn) and the Mighty Atlanta Elect Tenth Grade BLACK team (Coach Mays) are still battling in the Silver Division at the NCAA Certified "Big Shots" Atlanta. Still a chance to be champions.

Our 3 teams (Coach Venson -11th CLASSIC, Coach Gates -11th BLACK and Coach Hall 11th PRIME) in the NCAA Certified "On the RADAR Sweet 16", all have 2 - 1 records doing into final games today. This is just a showcase tournament with no champion crowned. However, our teams are doing well competing against some of the best teams in the nation.

The Mighty Atlanta Select Fifth Grade RED team (Coach Lawson) is in two tournaments this weekend. He is in the D!Spects Super 100 where he is undefeated and expect to be in the championship game and he is in the Tournament R Us with a 1 - 1 record and in the semifinal against the Mighty Atlanta Select Fifth Grade PRIME team (Coach Burks) who is undefeated. One of them will be in the championship game. Brother vs. Brother in the semifinals. Wow.

The Mighty Atlanta Select Ninth Grade SILVER team (Coach Hill) and the Mighty Atlanta Select Ninth Grade RED team (Coach Ferrell) are both undefeated in the tournament. They are on opposite sides in bracket play and we hope that they meet in the Tournament R Us championship game.

The Mighty Atlanta Select Eleventh Grade VISION team (Coach Wallace) is in the quarter finals, scheduled to play a team that they have already defeated. Please do not take them lightly. We want to see you advance. The head coach feels good.

The Mighty Atlanta Select Eleventh Grade SILVER team (Coach Carpenter) finally lost a game this season, but they are planning to start winning again today. With the exceptions of our Sixth Grade Lady Select RED they have the best win lost record of any Select team. just Go Select!!!

The Mighty Atlanta Select Third Grade SILVER team (Coach Harris) is headed to the championship game today.

The Mighty Atlanta Select Eleventh Grade SILVER team (Coach Powell) are 1 - 2 at the Spring Jam, scheduled to play at 10:25 this morning to even up the record.

The Mighty Atlanta Select Seventh Grade BLACK Elite team (Coaches Thompson & Stephens) got off to a slow start in the D1Spects Super 100 tournament but please do not under estimate the power of this team. They are still in the running toward the championship game. D1Spects scheduled back to back games for this team on yesterday. Make you want to go mummm.

The Mighty Atlanta Select Ninth Grade CLASSIC team (Coach Ricker) is undefeated at the N. Cobb Playmakers tournament planning to win 3 games today.

No report from the Mighty Eighth Grade SILVER West (Coach C. Morris) at the AAU State in Milledgeville and the Mighty Eighth Grade BLACK (Coach K. Morris). But I am sure they will have a lot of information to report. These two teams have already earned 5 trophies between them this year. Just Go Select!!!

And we are still growing. Yesterday I met and approved a new head coach for our fourth grade team, a grade that we do not have an active team. The Select Nation welcomes Head Coach Kevin Dillard. He will be profiled and presented on our web site soon. And again on last Friday we welcomed Head Coach Calvin Grayson who will lead a Seventh Grade team in the counties southeast of Atlanta.

Scheduled to meet with some other coaches interested in the Select Nation today.

I will be out and about. Take plenty of pictures. What great NEWS we will have tomorrow.

Just Go Select!!!

SYNERGY

Coach Z.
