Atlanta Select proudly announce new Head Coach Jonathan Mandeldove. Jon will lead the Mighty Tenth Grade Team - BLACK Future.
The team will serve the Dekalb, Gwinnett, Fulton and other surrounding counties.
Jon was a player for Coach Hill and Coach Zeigler when they were Celtics, during the early 2000s.
During numerous tournaments throughout the United States he excelled, especially at the Kingwood Classic in Houston, TX. He can be justifiably proud of his accomplishments as an AAU player.
He excelled as a student athlete and earned a sports scholarship to the University of Connecticut (UConn).
Before UConn: As a post-graduate in 2005-06 at Hargrave Military Academy, he was an All-County Selection... He was an honorable mention McDonald's All-American... He was an honorable mention All-State performer... Voted Tip-Off team athlete of the month... He helped lead his team to a 28-2 record... As a senior in 2004-05, he averaged 11.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, and five blocks a game at Shiloh High School.
Jon is the third former player for Coaches Hill and Zeigler who are now Head Coaches in the Atlanta Select organization. Others are Head Coach William Shepherd (The Mighty First Grade RED Team and Head Coach Larry Thompson (The Mighty Sixth Grade Team BLACK Elite).
We are confident that he will join his fellow former Celtic players and lead the Mighty Tenth Grade team - BLACK Future, to a very successful season. We welcome him to the Atlanta Select CADRE.
