Bakari Copeland, (Guard, Atlanta Select 15U SILVER last season) made the JV team at Arabia Mountain High School. He will play the 1 & 2 positions. His coaches (Coach Daniels, Varsity, and Coach Campbell, JV) expect Bakari to lead the team this season.
Bakari worked extremely hard during the off season, incorporating into his strength conditioning workout, a "secret" workout that has increased his vertical leaping abilities to over 7" in 30 days. His persistence in working out has enabled him to increase his speed significantly, improved his footwork and now he is able to dunk the ball consistently. The number of tough games he played during the AAU season assisted in building his confidence and drive to excel.
He has grown over the summer, now 6' tall, has maintained a "B" average in school, earning the respect and accolades of his teachers, coaches and classmates. His coaches at Arabia Mountain indicated that Bakari (this Sophomore)is being prepped to be a leader in the future of Arabia Mountain high school basketball.
Atlanta Select is extremely proud of Bakari. He exemplify the motto of Atlanta Select - Confident, Aggressive, Relentless, SYNERGY.
