More Than 10 Atlanta Select Teams in Tournaments This Weekend.

Atlanta Select Teams are playing YBOA, Georgia Tar Heels, The Ice Breaker in South Carolina and other tournaments this weekend.

The Mighty Eighth Grade BLACK Team started their tournament season on Friday night at the Action Sports Academy in Stone Mountain. Be prepared for an exciting season from these student athletes as they develop SYNERGY on the court.

The Mighty Ninth Grade CLASSIC Team played at the Action Sports Academy in Stone Mountain on Friday night. This team in their third tournament of the season is beginning to jell, realizing that hard work pays off.

Two teams other Atlanta Select teams are playing YBOA this weekend, The Mighty Sixth Grade SILVER team and the Mighty Seventh Grade RED team. Look for some exciting games today as they all are striving to Play on Sunday.

Atlanta Select is represented at the The Ice Breaker tournament in Aiken, SC/Augusta, GA by the Mighty Tenth Grade RED Team and the Eleventh Grade WHITE team. Tournament play begins this morning and we are proud of our representation at the tournament.

Four Atlanta Select teams are participating in the Georgia Tar Heels tournament this weekend, the Mighty Seventh Grade Lady Select BLACK (who eared a second place trophy last weekend in their first tournament of the season), the Mighty Ninth Grade BLACK 8732, The Mighty Eleventh Grade MIDNIGHT and the Mighty Eleventh Grade BLACK team. Atlanta Select teams have earned trophies in every Georgia Tar Heels tournament this season in which we had representation. Look for another trophy from the GA tar Heels organization this weekend.

Several other teams are playing in local tournaments this weekend. They will be highlighted in up coming NEWS articles.

We are proud and honored to have the opportunity to provide many of our youth in metro Atlanta to play in organized sports in a highly competitive program. As they play basketball we stress the three principles of our program, Education, Life Skills and Sports, equal partners, but Education comes first. DARIUS BRIDGES Select All Tournament Player

 

Congratulations to Darius Bridges for being selected to the Big Shots 16u All Tournament Team, for the Southern Shootout held at Alpharetta High School, Alpharetta, GA March 17-18, 2012.

Darius, a member of the Mighty Atlanta Select Tenth Grade BLACK Team is a 6'5" Power Forward/Center, who attends Lovejoy High School in metro Atlanta.

His performance during the tournament was noticed by the Big Shots staff and announced in the Big Shot's Daily News on Monday, March 19, 2012.

You never know who is watching you and your performance and image on the court and in the arena and is often observed by those who have the power to move you to the next level. Thus, your performance, image and the ability to be exposed really counts.

JACK SHAUGHNESSY caught the eye of the Tournament Director

Another of Darius' teammates caught the eye of the tournament director who tweeted to his contacts all over the nation. Kudos to Jack Shaughnessy, the 6'1" Point Guard who attends Etowah High School In Woodstock GA. Jack was at the "Right Place as The Right Time". Great EXPOSURE.

 Atlanta Select had two Tenth Grade teams in the tournament. Both carried themselves with grace and style and played their hearts out. Who knows what other Atlanta Select players were noticed. They all made a very positive first impression. Their Performances were great, their Images were outstanding and they all were EXPOSED.

  Atlanta Select is extremely proud of how these two teams (The mighty BLACK Team coached by Coach Penny and the Mighty RED Team coached by Coach Burton) carried the banner of Atlanta Select.

It's On! Fourteen Teams in Seven Different Tournaments.

Big Shots, Eric Snow, D1Spects, YBOA, Georgia Tar heels and two others. Atlanta Select is well represented in nearly every local major tournament this weekend. Fourteen teams played. Another 26 are waiting in the wings. The goal is to provide an opportunity for as many boys and girls as possible to have fun, be exposed, play competitive sports, experience life skills and display SYNERGY. That's what we are all about. Go Select!

In addition to the fourteen teams in tournaments, several teams participated in Converse Open Gym, several practiced and others are waiting for new uniforms whereas they can do battle next weekend in the "Select Few" Classic. Atlanta Select strives to provide opportunities for boys and girls throughout the metro Atlanta area to participate in competitive youth basketball.
